Cherished Words
Cherished Words Speech and Language Therapy was established in 2024 by Chereece Naidu (SLT).
Based in Newlands West, the practice provides speech and language therapy services to children and families across Durban, including surrounding areas such as Chatsworth, Malvern, Sherwood, Berea, and Musgrave. Therapy services are offered within the practice, as well as in homes and schools where appropriate.
At Cherished Words, we are passionate about helping children find their voice, build confidence, and connect meaningfully with the world around them.
We support children with a variety of speech, language, and social communication needs through evidence-based therapy tailored to each child and family’s communication goals.
Meet Chereece Naidu
Chereece Naidu B. (SLT) UKZN
Chereece Naidu is a Speech-Language Therapist based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. She obtained her Bachelor of Speech-Language Therapy degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2020.
After completing community service, Chereece began working in private practice, where she has gained valuable experience supporting children with a variety of speech, language, and social communication needs.
Chereece has a special passion for working with children, particularly in early intervention and supporting communication difficulties associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Her approach to therapy is warm, child-centred, and tailored to each child’s unique communication journey.

Cherished Words provides speech and language therapy services in Newlands West and surrounding areas, including Chatsworth, Malvern, Sherwood, Berea, Musgrave, and Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
We offer therapy sessions at our practice, as well as home visits and school-based therapy where appropriate, to support children within familiar and comfortable environments.
